SARCOXIE TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING

Minutes – May 17, 2023

 

GENERAL MEETING

The May Sarcoxie Township Board meeting was called to order by Trustee Kim Swearngin at 7:04 pm, May 17, 2023, at the 21st street Sarcoxie Fire Station. Board members Renz, Swearngin, and Lockwood were present. Chief Dover and Sara Neuburger attended.

AGENDA      The agenda was approved (Renz-Swearngin).

GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT   1. Cable construction still has landscape repair in places in Sarcoxie. 2. Concerns for areas on 46th street voiced. 3. Evergreen trees blocking view at 13th and Wildhorse

MINUTES     April 2023 minutes were approved with correction of $1049.99 reimbursement paid to Lisa (Lockwood-Renz).

TREASURER’S REPORT

Treasurer Renz reported and presented the bills to be paid for the month, and the monthly bank balance statement. The Board reconciled the bank balance of $413,539.41. The Board approved the report and payments (Renz-Swearngin). All Board financial reports are posted on the Township web site at sarcoxietwp.com.

FIRE CHIEF’S REPORT

  • Chief Dover reported 10 calls and 29 to date.  
  • Tracy will contact Road and Bridge Dept about gravel purchase for Station # 2
  • Electrical repairs completed and working at Station # 1
  • Online is in use for Dept member’s medical renewal.
  • SAM system for grants explained by Chief Dover.
  • KS FF Association annual meeting on April 14-15, 2023, report at June meeting.
  • Chief Dover reported on Foam Commander Trailer possibility with a 5% grant. Tracy will work with Keith Jeffers and report progress.

 OLD BUSINESS.    1. Intersection at 46th and Washington still a concern. 2. Bylaws, FDS policy manual, FD recruiting, and Chief’s truck use continue to be in review. 3. SAMS system active with Keith Jeffers and Chief Dover underway 4. Rim Rock concerns will be addressed later with Planning and Zoning Department.    

 

 NEW BUSINESS         Clerk Lockwood will contact Road and Bridge about public concerns.    

NEXT REGULAR MEETING is June 21, 2023, at 7pm at the 21st station.
